Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) is a linear block copolymer formed by the reaction of diisocyanates with polyols and chain extenders. It can be regarded as a “performance-adjustable wear-resistant rubber” - it achieves reversible physical crosslinking through the microphase separation of the hard segment and the soft segment, thus possessing excellent wear resistance (3-5 times that of natural rubber), high elasticity, excellent oil and chemical resistance, a wide range of hardness adjustment (Shore A 60 to Shore D 80), and good low-temperature toughness. It can be processed by thermoplastic methods such as injection molding and extrusion without the need for vulcanization. It is widely used in scenarios requiring high wear resistance, high elasticity, and oil and chemical resistance, such as mobile phone protective cases, sports shoe soles, pneumatic hoses, cable sheaths, medical tubes, conveyor belts, and automotive instrument panel covers.
