Epoxy resin (EP) is a thermosetting plastic containing epoxy groups, which can be regarded as the “generic term for universal adhesion and high-performance coatings” - it forms a three-dimensional network structure by undergoing ring-opening cross-linking reactions with curing agents (amines, acid anhydrides, etc.) through the interaction of epoxy groups. Therefore, it has extremely strong adhesion, excellent chemical resistance, high electrical insulation, low shrinkage rate, and good mechanical strength, and maintains stable dimensions after curing. Epoxy resin can be combined with glass fibers and carbon fibers to form high-strength composite materials, and can also be adjusted through formulation to achieve a wide range of performance variations from rigidity to flexibility. It is widely used in structural adhesives (metal/ceramic/glass bonding), carbon fiber composite materials (aircraft/wind turbine blades/golf club shafts), electronic packaging (chip encapsulation, circuit board substrate), anti-corrosion coatings (ship/pipeline inner walls), and flooring materials, etc.
